HOME IS STAGNANT. Why the mind loves to wake in a new city.

Waking up in a strange town or city is both mentally shocking and purely magical. The brain and the soul seem to crave these events. They crave to wake up to something new and fresh.

The city of your home is comfortable and pleasent but it is ultimately a trap. It’s hard to leave and its hard to go out and explore it.

HOME IS STAGNANT! A pond that holds life and warmth but doesn’t allow you to be fresh and to feel impossibly small in a good way.

Waking up to the beeping of a new city or the rattle of different trains excites the senses for adventure, and it isn’t just the city were discovering! IT’S US.

“When you travel, you first discover a sense of your significance”

You first have this uncomfortable feeling that you are so insignificant in the world you are a thread away from being invisible, you are just a breath that floats for moment in front of the earth. Eventually that insignificance slowly erodes away your realisation of mortality. You accept your fate of insignificance to the earth and larger things. You open your eyes to the new sights with an eagerness that says, “who cares anyway, I’m going to explore my curiosities and I’m not going to worry about how I’m seen by others.”

New foods, new buildings, new mountains, new forests, new oceans are staring back at you. There is a moment you realise shortly after accepting your insignificance, that you are actually extremely significant. You are significant to yourself and to the people you meet and share your experiences with. These shared experiences are the most memorable we get to souvenir and bring with us everywhere.

Go forth and share your experiences. Share moments and they’ll last longer, smell sweeter, and stamp your heart harder than any others have before.
